“I believe Vancouver

Forty years ago citizens stopped freeways into downtown and put Vancouver on the path of becoming the world’s most livable city.

Now Vancouver is at another crossroads, with our livability again at stake.

Most people would agree that accommodating at least some growth and creating a more compact, greener city are good goals. How we do it is the question. The current approach to managing growth is resulting in escalating housing prices, traffic congestion, mega high-rises being authorized outside of the existing public approval process, and an underinvestment in rental housing. People are upset.

I believe development doesn’t have to compromise our neighbourhoods or our quality of life. I believe Vancouver can become the world’s most livable and greenest city, but there are better ways to get there. I am able and willing to help get us there.

You have elected me to Vancouver City Council and this is what you can expect: I will listen to people and work collaboratively. In every decision, I will consider: Will this decision move us forward in tackling the most pressing issues of our times, like climate change and social inequity? Will it create a more sustainable local economy, a healthier environment and a more affordable and livable city? Will it leave our children better off and more secure?

I am committed to creating a better Vancouver for everyone. I am keen to serve, and am honoured by your vote.
